Discriminatory Practices at Cafe Gelato Dear Management of Cafe Gelato, I am writing to express my deep disappointment and concern regarding an incident that occurred during my visit today July 20th, 2024. Today, I visited Cafe Gelato and requested to sample three different flavors before deciding. However, to my surprise, I was informed by your staff that customers are only permitted to try a maximum of two flavors. Shortly after my interaction, I witnessed another customer—a white woman—approach the counter and request to sample three flavors: cherry, strawberry, and peach. To my dismay, she was promptly accommodated without any hesitation or restriction, which starkly contrasts with the treatment I received moments earlier. This unequal treatment has led me to question whether there might be underlying racial bias or discrimination at play in this establishment. As a customer, it is deeply disheartening to feel that I may have been subjected to different standards based on my race or ethnicity. They must thoroughly review their policies and ensure that they are applied fairly and consistently to all customers, regardless of their background. Discrimination in any form has no place today's world. I get that they were busy today but that doesn't give them the right to discriminate. Will not be coming back!
